YogaLife: Philosophy, Ethics, and Practice with Sheila

A Kripalu Style Yoga Retreat Day with Sheila Magalhaes Sunday, March 29 11 - 4:00 pm. $75.00, must pre register to attend this workshop! When you register, you will be emailed a a pre class "assignment" to reflect upon and do a little written "homework", as preparation for the workshop's discussions and group experiences! This class is based on the one credit course that Sheila taught at Springfield College's School of Human Services. Included will be:
  • Yoga's "8 Limb Path" philosophy and history, and it's relationship to every day life.
  • A discussion about your "Balanced Day"
  • Ways to access and develop your "Spiritual Muscles"
  • Yamas and Niyamsa, the ethics of Yoga
  • Yoga: gentle, restorative, nidra and partner work will be explored.
  • Meditation: discussion and practice.
  • A completion project at the end of the day! (create a Vision Board!) The pre class "assignment" will give you a background and a starting off point for the discussions we will have together, in large and small groups. We will stretch, move, play and relax deeply over the course of this day. We will explore and learn together about the power of Yoga to enhance our every day lives. Bring a light bagged lunch and a drink for a mid day break, and a handful of magazines that you are willing to cut up and/or share with the group, and scissors for the completion project at the end of the day.
