Meditation and the Mind
with Kadam Eve Arias
Resident Teacher from Odiyana Kadampa Buddhist Center
Saturday, September 12th |
held at Heartsong Yoga
264 North Main Street
East Longmeadow, MA
When things go wrong in our life and we encounter difficult situations, we tend to regard the situation itself as the problem, but in reality whatever problems we experience come from our mind. Everything we know, everything we experience and enjoy, we do so through the power of our mind. But how well do we actually know our mind, how it functions, what it’s nature is? By getting to know our mind and how it functions, we can gradually learn how to avoid negative states of mind that lead to suffering and instead cultivate and nurture the positive states of mind, creating causes for peace of mind, happiness.
The talk will include guided meditation, practical advice for working with the mind in daily life and time for Q&A.
This event is free, and all are welcome to attend, those new to meditation, and those who have experience already, those new to Heartsong, and all of our Heartsong friends.
